General Conference weekend means German Pancake! (Every six months, our church holds a conference that is broadcast all over the world. You can watch here!) We make this quite often in our home, it’s one of our favorites. I’m pretty sure that Lola could eat a whole pan if given the chance!
My Nana calls this Oven Pancake. No matter what you call it, this is such an easy, classic, yummy, feel-good breakfast. We top ours with powdered sugar and lemon, but you could use syrup or jam if you’d like.
German Pancake
Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 6 Tablespoons butter
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place butter in a 9x13 pan in the oven. While the butter is melting, mix the remaining ingredients in a blender. Once butter is melted, bubbly, and slightly browned, pour batter into pan and bake for 15-20 minutes at 425 degrees.
Serve with powdered sugar on top, then squeeze some fresh lemon juice on top.
Mmm! We are lucky enough to have a lemon tree in our front yard. Lola loves to go out and pick some good ones for our breakfast.
Ada is full of oooh and ahhs when I pull this out of the oven, it looks so cool since it rises up so much. Enjoy!
