My mom gave me the advent calendar that I used growing up & I love it! Edited to add: it’s from Germany! :)
Instead of putting candy in the pockets, I decided to write up some activities for each day and put them in.

This is a really cool idea! I used craft paper and numbered them last year and strung it around the tree…each day the kids would see what our activitie(s) for that day was. But it got a little bit cumbersome just because sometimes plans had changed so we needed to switch days around. :)
